2015 Hoonah Native Forest Project (HNFP)

The 2015 field season has come to an end for the HNFP project near Hoonah, Alaska. This years accomplishments included the collection of channel morphology data and salmon biological information that will be used to calibrate the synthetic LiDAR data. After the synthetic data becomes available (Spring 2016), Romey Environmental will be using the synthetic data to create an Intrinsic Potential habitat model for both chum and pink salmon that will be used by the multiple agencies involved on the project. Model uses include ecosystem resource management, conservation, and restoration and will be applicable to all of Southeast Alaska.
